Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving is a time of family, food and fun. And that's what we had! The weather was beautiful, so we spent some time outside in it.

Mason loves his four wheeler at Nana and Poppy's! He cruised that thing all over the place. His imagination runs wild out there.
He filled up the tires with air and the tank with gas. You can see his lips making the noises here..

My mom and dad live on 25 acres and we decided it was a great day to go play around on it.
So, Dad, Christian, Mason and I hopped in the old truck and headed out into the woods.

Poppy let Mase do the driving.

He was very careful and watched his surroundings.

First we headed out to check on some things for my brother.

We had to scout out if there were any deer tracks around the corn that he put out and look at his camera to see if any had strolled by.

Then Mason and I did some scavenging through the woods and field.

The sound of leaves crunching from being stepped on is one of my favorite sounds!
Next, we got some clay pigeons and the gun out.

We didn't have the right something or other, so we weren't able to shoot them in the air. So, we just propped them up all around to shoot.

First up was Poppy's turn. He discussed some gun safety and shot the first round.

Poppy really showed us how it's done!

He did a round really fast to make it sound like a machine gun.

Then it was Christian's turn. And he was really good, too!

Mason was so cute covering his ears. It wasn't very loud, but he said he was doing it just in case.

Then Mason got to shoot his first gun. Daddy showed him how to hold it, where to look, to always keep the safety on until you are ready to use it, to never point it at anyone, etc.

Then he pointed, aimed and shot!

He got to shoot a lot of times. And he/they hit some disks!

After everyone had another turn, Mase got to shoot with Poppy.

Again, they got some!

Nice work!!

Proud of his cracked clay pigeon!

Dad showed me how to hold and shoot the gun.

Then I shot my first gun! And I will brag about it cause on my very first shot ever, I nailed it!!

BOOM!! Check that baby out!! The guys were impressed and asked if I was sure I hadn't ever shot a gun before! :)

I was proud and excited! :)

Second shot ever...

Hole in the middle!! Yeah, don't mess with this Momma!!

I was having a blast at this point!

Cracked me another!

I was proud of my aftermath!! :)

After we drove around the pastures some, Mason drove us back up to the house.. But not before we had a race with Butterscotch!

So, Mase and Poppy went to the mill to get some food to feed the cows since they were following us around like a bunch of dogs.

Love my handsome boy! He had a great time playing out there.

We got back in to Sis being a silly girl, as always.
She kept climbing up the step ladder.

Climbing is her newest trick.

...........................................
We also went to my grandparent's house, in Sulphur, to stuff our bellies for thanksgiving.

The cousins always have so much fun together.

They were pretending they were trapped in the stairs. Such silly kids.

Morgan got some lovin' from my Uncle Matt that was in town and practiced her walking.

Aunt T dolled Miss Emma up in pretty lipstick.

As if lunch wasn't enough, we all stuffed ourselves a little bit more with some dessert.

My beautiful babies. I'm so thankful for them!!

Nana and Poppy with their sweet grand kids,

Last year this is how we spent Thanksgiving... Home with a newborn baby girl.

I remember staying home to keep Morgan away from the world's germs and just eating and cuddling at home. Such a sweet time.

It's been a fast year, that's for sure! So many changes and so many blessings to count.
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!!

At all times and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.
