Trip to T-Town!

Recently we made a weekend trip up to Tulsa to visit Christian's family. We always have such a great time but always leave exhausted because we cram so much fun in!

We got off work on Friday and booked it straight to T-Town! That night we hung out at Christian's parent's house and Mason got to run wild with a few of his cousins and Christian's Aunt and niece got to meet Morgan for the first time!

~

It was perfect weather for roasting some hot dogs! All the boys had so much fun with it!

~

And a roasting experience wouldn't be complete without making Smore's too!

~

These boys took down some Smore's!!

~

That night Mason slept for the first time in the other bedroom all by himself. He usually sleeps in the floor of where we sleep anytime we stay somewhere. Even though he sleeps in his own room and bed at home, it was really big boy of him to be so independent and sleep in the other room in a bed while we were away from our house... I actually tried to talk him into still sleeping in our room, but he reminded me that he's a big boy now. :(

~As tradition follows, a trip to the donut store was first on the to-do list for the next morning! This donut store is the best ever! They always have the coolest and most creative donuts for the kids to choose from!

Mason chose a pumpkin.

~

Cosby chose the angry bird.

~
And Cross also had a bird.

~

Morgan had a banana donut. She wasn't sure about it at first...

but then realized that it was delicious, and got after it!

~
Morgan and Chapman got to play together. Chapman was crawling all over the place and Morgan wasn't crawling, but would try to scoot around.

Chapman is becoming so big boy!

~
These two are about 2 months apart, Chapman being the older one.

~

Here they are when they were itty bitty. Morgan was 4-6 weeks old here!

~

And now they are both close to 1!!

~

Next, we packed up and headed to the Oklahoma Aquarium. Mason was a good helper and insisted on pushing the stroller, as always.

~
This place is so big!

~

There were a couple animal statues out front that Christian couldn't resist messing around with... Mason wasn't quite sure what to think about Daddy's arm getting "stuck" inside the alligator's mouth! But he saved him, so all was well.

~
The first thing that we saw in the aquarium was a pair of hands!!... Mason was a little confused and not too impressed with our jokes about it. ;)

~

After the Saltwater Hands Exhibit, there were a lot of little jelly fish. It really was intriguing watching those little things swim around.

~

Dee-da had fun telling Mase about the animals we saw. Mason listened and soaked up every bit of info passed his way.

~

There were lots of little shrimp swimming around in this tub. They were completely see through and when they would eat something, you could see the food in their bodies. It was interesting, but kinda disgusting to see since I eat shrimp!

~

There were a few animals that we were allowed to touch. The first one was some Star Fish, aka See Stars, aka Echinodermatas (which means "spiny skinned").

~

Beside every animal, there was information about them. For the Sea Stars it said that they feed on large objects by turning their stomachs out and digesting the food outside their body.
~
These were Brittle Stars, which are in the same family as Sea Stars.

~
Mason was so excited that he got to feed the turtles!

~

He was a huge fan of this!

~
We got to see some beavers eating lunch... Here Christian is demonstrating how beavers eat their food.

~
These little guys were interesting to watch how they used their hands and ate their food... just as Christian showed us all. ;)

~

Mason and I piggy backed to see some fishies.

~

Mason was thrilled that he found Nemo and Dori!!

~
My dad has a souvenir coin business (Medallion Mint) and we got to see a couple of his machines that he has there! Mason is the one that actually pointed them out to us. Which is good that they are catching even the little one's eyes!

~

And, here was another one!!

~

We also got to touch some Sting Rays. They were SO slimy and soft!

~

Probably the most strange thing that we saw was the Green Moray. It's face, it's body, it's eyes, it's mouth, the way it slithered around... all of it creeped me out!

~

And the coolest thing we saw was the shark exhibit! There was a tunnel that we walked through with sharks swimming all around us.

~

Such a cool picture!

~

The sharks are thiiiissss big!!

~

So close, but luckily so far away.

~

It looks like Mason is inside the water with them!

~

This picture is an actual size of a shark!

~

This is the jaw of that shark!

~

Sissy had enough of the fun and took a snooze in the stoller.

~

While she was sleeping, Mason was adament about wanting to kiss and hug on her toes. He's so sweet to her.

~

Mason picked out an aquarium puzzle from the gift shop for his souviner.

~
Later that day we continued the fun over to see an RC (radio control) Plane Show. Christian's sister, Casey, and her three sons met up with us there.

~

Morgan and Chapman were little stoller buddies.

~

There were men walking all over with huge controllers to their planes in their hands.

~
The planes were pretty impressive! Look how big some of them were! Some, like these three, were bigger than I am! You can see the size comparison in the yellow plane since there are men standing beside it.

~

It was a little unbelievable that these huge plans were only controlled by someone on the ground with a few knobs and buttons.

~

We got front row seats on the bleachers to watch the show.

~

When Christian was younger, he made radio control planes and would take them here to fly them. So being there brought back some fun memories for him and his dad.

Mason really enjoyed watching too.

~

Morgan hung out in her stroller and watched everything going on.

~

At one point, Chapman crawled over to visit Miss M.

~The planes weren't very loud, but Mason is used to going to real air shows where the jets are really loud and we all have to cover our ears. So, right away he ran over to Morgan and put his hands over her ears. She didn't like him covering her ears though so after I told him that it wasn't loud enough to need to do that, he stopped... But it was very thoughtful of him.

The boys were so cute all lined up watching.

~

Once we got in the car, both kids crashed pretty quick.

~

Later that night, Mason and I were worn out from the long day and we passed out early on the couch. I love sweet times with my babies.

It was such a fun weekend for all of us. It was go-go-go and we were all pretty whooped at the end of the weekend, but it was so worth it for the memories that we made!
