Last Wednesday was Christian's 34th Birthday! Buuuttt, we celebrated for about a week surrounding the actual day. The weekend before his birthday, the "since it's my birthday week..." comments started up. But I never mind because I LOVE showering my loved ones with praises and gifts for any celebration!
Wednesday morning, I whipped up a big breakfast to feed my boy's bellies and then it was time for presents! As always, Mason was such a good little helper with Daddy's gifts and cards.
~
These days, Christian gets 3 cards for every occasion... One from Wifey, One from Bubba and One from Sissy.

Mason was SO proud of his card and pointed out everything he had put on it.
~
I always let Mase pick out what stickers he wants to put on the cards and he chose quite the spread this time! He chose each color of crayon that he wanted to write in and he put his hand over mine to help me write.
I asked him what he wanted to tell Daddy for his birthday, and he said the sweetest comments! He said, "I want to write 'Happy Birthday to Daddy!'"And I continued to ask what else he wanted to say to Daddy. And he said, "I want to write 'Thank you for sharing.'" " Thank you for loving people." "You are my favorite." "I want to blow kisses to you." And,"I want a party too." ... Such a sweet, little boy that loves his Daddy SO MUCH!
~
Then I had Mason help me with Daddy's card from Morgan. He chose and placed the stickers for her card and assisted me in writing as well. He said that the pink stickers had to go on her card since she's a girl.
I asked him what would Sissy say if she could talk to Daddy on his birthday and he said, "She would say 'I love you this much!'" and "Happy Birthday Daddy!"
~
That evening, we had a little get together at Louie's Brookhaven. We are so blessed to have so many great friends that came to celebrate with us! We've all been through the good and the bad, but one thing for sure is that we could count on these people for anything, anytime. We couldn't ask for better friends!!
~
Christian thinks he is "old"... but look at this man! He still looks like a young hottie! He's a little over 5 years older than me, but you wouldn't even know it!

That weekend, we left the kids with my parents and we ditched town for a birthday getaway! I took him to the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas. This place is like a castle! It's so big that they hand out maps so you can find yourself around the resort! This picture really doesn't do it justice at all!
~
The gorgeous Grapevine Lake was the view from our room!
~
Right away we headed out for some fun! The Stilts Cowboy greeted us with a 'Howdy Partners!'
~
Then we took the short shuttle ride over to Paradise Springs for some fun in the sun! While it was in the 100's back here in Oklahoma, it was only in the high 90's where we were... We still got burnt within the first hour and a half though!

~
We did some much needed relaxing...
~
But if you know us, if there are fun things to do, we're on it! So, pretty quick we headed over to go down the slides!
~
That's me underneath the splash on the right...
~
Then we headed over to the zip line! Christian got brave the second go 'round and did a pretty impressive back flip!

~

~
I stuck with cannon balls though in fear of losing a swimsuit item if I did anything too crazy!... Christian did not capture my perfected cannon ball very well, by the way! :)

~
The paparazzi caught me on my way out of the pool so proud of my zip lining!

We really enjoyed ourselves in the lazy river and kept finding ourselves back in it throughout the day!

~
We rode on the shuttle back to the main part of the hotel with red faces and big grins from all the fun we had.

~
~
We laid down for a little nap once we got back. In which that "little" nap turned into a 3 HOUR nap! We woke up at 8:00 and were in shock that we had napped that long! I guess that's what happens when you don't get interrupted by kids and you did have a long day, active day in the sun!
So, we hurried and got dressed for the evening and headed down for dinner.
~
~
Then we went and enjoyed the nightlife around the GT.

~
Birthday Boy.

This pool didn't have kids everywhere like the water park did the day before, so the peace and quite was really nice.

~
After a couple hours at the pool, we went and explored some more. The design of the hotel resort is beautiful! It has a really neat Alamo feel to it!

All of this is in the middle of the hotel!... It really was gorgeous!

The next morning we stuffed our belly's and then headed to one of the pools.
~
This pool was directly on property and also had beautiful waterfalls surrounding it.

It was the perfect getaway that we were looking for! It was a great combination of romantic and relaxing, yet still fun and active. Texas was very good to us! We look forward to taking the kids to the Gaylord Texan sometime, hopefully not too long from now, and maybe go there with friends some time too!
We had a great time celebrating Christian's birthday this year, as always! Another year gone... But, another year to look forward to.
