A couple weekends ago, I had my 10 Year High School Reunion! I was on the reunion planning committee, so I had plenty of time to mentally prepare for it, but I still absolutely can not believe that it's been a decade since I graduated from high school!
~
Friday night was a casual, laid back night at a local bar. We listened to old school music and just hung out.
It was so good to see great friends like my lifelong friend, Kara!
~
And, Michael, which used to ride his bike over to our house all the time when we were young.
~
Adam, Jeff, Erin and Chris... Erin and I cheered together all growing up and Chris (far right) was an ex-boyfriend of a couple years when we were in Intermediate through Junior High... I ended up breaking his heart. :( Which we actually ended up talking about the next night at the reunion party and I apologized again, then we laughed about it! :)
~
Randall was one of the football guys in our friend group.
~
Michael Kara and Bassity. Either I've shrunk or everyone has grown since high school!

.............................
The next afternoon was the family picnic at the Shannon Springs Park there in Chickasha. It was so fun seeing every one's kids!

Some of my best girl friends from growing up.

After the picnic, our group from high school all went to our friends, the Brown Twins, to swim and hang out.
Morgan got to spend some time with the other baby girls of my friends Christi and Kara's.
It was so fun getting to spend time with my friends and their kids!
Later that evening, was the main event of the reunion. It was at the Elk's Lodge. We had one of our friends from our class, Andre, dj, a slide show (that I worked super hard on making!), and food.
We got to all dance and act like silly teenagers again!

I made sure that I wrote on Christian's name tag "McClure's Hubby" to make sure that everyone knew that this hottie was taken!. Just in case some of the girls were like they were back in the day, ;)
Christian was great at letting me mingle all around and leaving him hanging to talk to people he didn't know. Thankfully, because I was all over the place talking to people! I'm so glad that he is able to adapt and make conversation with anyone!
We had a good size group show up! There were some people that didn't show up, that I hoped would though. But it was a better turn out than I expected!
It was a really fun weekend! Everyone that I know that's gone to their reunions told me that if you go to all the events that by the last one, everyone runs out of things to talk about. But, I knew our class wouldn't be that way! We all just slipped right back into the way things used to be and got along great with each other. It was so much fun reminiscing with everyone about old times! It was a great feeling that I had zero grudges being held on to and I had zero hard feelings for any of the people that had hurt me over the years.
The weekend exceeded my expectations and left me looking forward to our reunions to come! I think we are going to have them every 5 years, which I'm excited about! I hope they don't come too fast though!!
I always wondered how I would feel at my reunion. Proud? Insecure? Uncomfortable? Confident?... And now I know... I felt so happy, secure, comfortable and confident in the life that I've made for myself. I was extremely proud to show off my handsome and sweet husband, and my adorable, precious kiddos.
Those are the times that put things in perspective and make me feel so thankful to have grown into the woman that I am. I can only hope that as the years pass I continue to better myself, my life and my faith.
Fightin' Chicks-Class of 2001... it doesn't get much more fun than this group!
