Trip to the Zoo

We made our first trip to the Zoo for the year, and it was a hot one!

Morgan got to stroll around and get pampered, so it wasn't too big a deal for her.

Right when we got there, Mason was pointing which direction to go with such excitement!

He wanted a "piggy ride" every time his little legs would get tired. And good thing that Super Dad's shoulders never get too tired for that! ;)

All the animals were out in good view, but there wasn't much movement from them. They were probably all exhausted from the heat.

Mason still loved it all though.

The grizzly bear was right at the window, and Mason said, "He's thhhissss big, Daddy!"

Mason made sure that he gave Sis some attention every now and then too.

He loves to sit on the animal statues that are all around. Honestly, he probably loves that more than anything about the Zoo.

Morgan was wide eyed and bushy tailed watching all that was going on around her.

The boys got to feed the ducks and turtles at the pond.

And a picture from the last time that we were at the Zoo... Right at 1 month before I had Morgan!

The heat was starting to wear on us, so the piggy back rides became more frequent.

~

Mason said, "I need a break. I'm tired." And sat down to kick back for a drink break.

~

By this time, sister was crashed out.

~

Then we had some lunch and got our second wind. Next up was heading to the new Elephant Pavilion!

It was like a little resort for these elephants! If you haven't been there, you've got to go. It's huge and really quite nice!

Mason was such a good, little helper pushing the stoller.

We did some cooling off in the mister.

Mason loved the mister and was not about to let me go without getting in it. So, he drug me in there. And it was a good cool down, so good thing he did!

Our last stop was to feed and hold the parakeets. We bought some sweet nectar to attract the birds. Right away Mason stuck his arm up for a bird to get on his arm.

He had fun feeding the birds and watching them fly everywhere.

Before we left, we all squeezed into the photo booth for some fun family pics. They turned out pretty cute! The one where we are all sticking our tongues out, Morgan actually is too!

It was pretty hot so we may or may not make it back to the Zoo until the fall. But we sure did have a great time though!
