A Double Special Day!

For Mother's Day this year, it was an extra special day for me and our family! I got to celebrate being a mommy to two wonderful, healthy children and got to dedicate Morgan at church.
~

At the beginning of the week, Mason and his class made a list of 'What does your MOM do for you?' All the kid's answers were so cute!

Look at Mason's at the bottom! He said "My Mommy hugs me and makes my food!" I LOVE IT!!! That's exactly what I want my babies to think of me! That I hug them and love on them, and cook and feed their bellies! This absolutely made my day!!

~

The day before Mother's Day, Christian's parents and grandparents came into town from Tulsa to spend time with us.

~
We had a great time lounging around catching up and letting them love on the kids.

Morgan and Mason with their G-ma, Dee-da, Great Granddaddy Jack and Great Grandmother.

~

Mason milked everyone for coins to put into his piggy bank!

~

Mason was quite the show off. He had fun showing off his room and his t-ball skills outside.

He loved having an audience to cheer for him every time.

~

The next morning was the Sunday of Mother's Day. I got 2 SWEET SWEET cards from Mason and Morgan, and Christian. Mason colored the one from the kids so beautifully. :)

~
And while I was getting dressed for church, my boys made me my favorite breakfast!

One-Eyed Monsters! My Dad made these all the time growing up, so I've always loved them. Christian makes them for me every Mother's Day.

~

They were so proud of their smiley face creation they made with the food!

~
Then we headed to church for Morgan's dedication. A dedication is a ceremony where us as parents give back to God what He has so graciously given us. It is not a baby baptism service, rather an opportunity for us to publicly affirm our daughter to Christ. It is the first step in nurturing Morgan toward the day that she will put her total trust in Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.

~

Once we arrived at church they had a photo opp set up. I love these kind of pictures where Mason is frowning and Morgan isn't looking and has her hand in her mouth. Shows the great stages of toddler and baby.

Second try was a little better.

~
There was a big group of 15 kids and babies that got dedicated that day as well. They introduced each family, gave a little info about us, and prayed over us.

~

We were so blessed to have both of our families come into town for this special occasion. This is Christian's side of the family.

And the whole group!

~
Morgan was so precious in her little dress!

~

I made some yummy food to feed everyone.

~

I also made delicious cupcakes and cake balls.

~

The kids were all so cute playing together.

Morgan got loved on some more!

Then we opened up all the gifts that the kids got for the dedication from our sweet family and friends.

~

We got Morgan her first bracelet. It was this little pearl bracelet with a gold cross on it.

~

She got her very first little Bible with her name embossed on it.

And lots of other precious things from our loved ones.

~

It was so sweet that people got Mason some gifts too. We got him a Noah's Ark coloring book and a DVD about stories from the Bible. He also got several books, cd and toys as well from others.

~

Here is Morgan modeling her cross necklace and bracelet.

~

These were my Mother's Day gifts from my fam. I loved the wrapping. :)

They got me some Willow Tree figurines of a Mommy, toddler and a baby, which I LOVED! And a plaster of Morgan's tiny little handprint! For my first Mother's Day after having Mason, Christian got me a plaster of Mason's footprint. I love love love my sweet, memorable gifts that represent me being a Mommy!

~

In Morgan's class at her daycare, they made this canvas picture for me. It's a meadow of flowers made of Morgan's little toes!!

~

And Mason finger painted this sweet picture for me! Such precious pictures from my babies!!

~
As if that day wasn't enough, a few days later Christian decided that since Mother's Day wasn't all about me since we shared the day with Morgan's dedication, that he would take me to get a mani and a pedi! And the kick was, HE was going to get one WITH ME!!!

~

So we went and signed in, sat down, etc. The whole time Christian just looked really uncomfortable. Look at this "are you seriously taking a picure" look on his face. :)

It was so great that we ran into my friend, Brandie, and she got a pedi right across from us. I was so excited that one of my friends got to witness the hilarious moment with me! He kept saying things like, "THIS is what you girls get?!" and "You girls are way more spoiled than I thought!" Brandie and I would just laugh. :)

~

But don't you even kid yourself. After a few minutes Christian reclined his seat back, turned on the back massagers and closed his eyes. He LOVED it!! It was the funniest thing I've ever seen!

~

After that, he decided that he might as well go all out and get a mani with me too! He enjoyed the parafin wax and the mini massage (which was way too mini), but then for some odd reason the lady decided to paint a clear coat on his fingernails!

He whipped his head around to me and said, "Why is she doing that?!" I just laughed and laughed, and laughed so hard that I cried! But even with him saying that and me laughing at him, she still continued to paint! Afterwards, he made sure that he knew that he did NOT like the manicure, his soft hands or his shiny fingernails! But he did like the pedicure, and wouldn't mind going again sometime.... And I'm sure that he is going to just LOVE me putting this on my blog too! :)

~

Anyway, it was a wonderful Mother's Day this year! I was so blessed to be able to share it with such a special occasion of dedicating our baby girl to the Lord with so many great people, and then got an extra treat of a fun and funny day with my hubby.

Thank you SO much to all of our friends and family that celebrated with us and made the trip. We are so thankful to have you all in our lives and we look forward to you all watching our babies grow physically and spiritually along side us.
