A couple weeks ago Christian and I celebrated our 6 Year Wedding Anniversary! I can't believe how fast it's all gone by! It's been such an incredible 6 years that's for sure! So many ups and downs. We've thoroughly enjoyed the ups and have tried to learn from the downs. Our relationship has grown into a marriage that we both adore. We are constantly working on ways to make ourselves better spouses and friends to one another. We love our time spent together just the two of us, the time with all four of us, and the time with our family and friends.
Our communication has gotten stronger and our want to be more spiritual as individuals and as a couple has grown. We go through seasons in life where we are searching for happiness and things to help us feel fulfilled. But right now we are in a season where we are extremely content and happy with life. Our relationship is strong, our church and small group are amazing, our jobs are doing great, we have an amazing backing of friends that we've grown extremely close with, our families are wonderful and our kids are in such fun stages. We are seeing that when we make good choices and live life not for ourselves, but for God, that we are rewarded. He is always faithful but it's sometimes hard to see. But we are just so grateful for all He's given us and we are constantly thanking Him for all the many many blessings.
We have a lot of goals for the next year and many more that go beyond the year. We know that the good times (like now) don't last forever, but thank the Lord the bad times don't either. We are trying to live by the saying "Live like no one else now, so you can live like no one else later". Meaning that not many people do the right things spiritually, financially, etc and if you do live the right way then you'll be living full, abundant lives later on when most everyone else is still searching.
We still have a lot of things we need to work on to keep things good and make things even better. But we praise the good Lord for our blessed life and pray that we continue to try to make ourselves worthy of all that we have.

Christian started the celebrating 1 week before our anniversary by giving me my present early!
He handed me this folded up note. (Which I loved the junior high touch of how it was folded and the pull tab:))
Inside it had a really sweet message that started out with
"Happy Anniversary Part 1!"
And it ended with "To Be Continued..."
And then Mason ran around the corner with a gift bag.
Cannon Rebel T2I!! Which is a SWEET camera!
~
Not a cute picture of me, but you can see that I was extremely surprised and shocked!

He gave it to me early so I could have it for Mason's birthday party the next day. Great thinking on his part! I LOVED my present and was very intrigued about what Part 2 was! Which I guessed and wondered all week long!
.........................................
Then a few days later, Christian and I took a half day at work and decided to enjoy the great weather. He thought it was all a spontaneous plan but I had my own agenda! I took him out for lunch and margaritas then headed out for a round of golf! I surprised him with his anniversary gift which was a new golf bag, golf hat, golf glove and golf towel!
~
He was so excited about it! Here he is striking a pose with his new golf gear! :)
It was the most perfect weather for golfing!
~
I even hit a few balls. And didn't do too bad! Not too great either, but at least it wasn't all that bad! ;)
I really have no idea what I'm doing when I golf but I still enjoy trying, driving the golf cart, the company and the gorgeous weather. And, it relaxes Christian and he really enjoys it so I don't mind going just for him.
.........................................
Then it came time for Part 2 of my gift! I had been dying all week long wanting to know what it was! And when I got home from work that Thursday, Christian handed me a piece of paper.
~
It said "I'm Woody's Best Friend". I said, "What is this??" He told me that if I wanted the second part of my gift that I had to go on a scavenger hunt to find it.... So, I set out to find Woody's Best Friend for my next clue!

~
I headed straight for the play room where I knew that Buzz would be. But I found Buzz and not another clue. So, Christian said "Oh that's where the big Buzz is?! Okay, go find a different one cause I couldn't find that one."... So, I searched and found the mini Buzz in Mason's room, with another clue!

"She is an Angel" was the next one... So, I headed to where Morgan was and searched her body but found nothing. Christian said, "Okay, go to where she is alot of the time." So, I headed to Morgan's room.
In her crib I found Clue #3!
"I'm a waste of time but full of drama"... I knew that meant the tv! So, I headed to the living room.
There I found Clue # 4! (About then I was thinking how long was this scavenger hunt?!)
It said "We lived here after we got married"... I knew that meant Hawaii, so I went straight for our surfing pictures in our bedroom.
And the 5th and final clue said "I'm very relaxing after a hard day!" Mason helped paint this one :) I checked the bed, the couch and then the tub.
~
This is what I found in the tub: A suitcase, a Mr. Potato Head ear, a card and a plastic rock of Mason's.
~
I read through my long, sweet card thinking that it explained everything but it didn't. So, I thought What in the world does this mean?! I said Ear? Hear? He said think of what rhymes with it. So, I went through all kinds of not likely options and was still clueless. So, he said "The ear means sounds like." I must be ditzy cause I still didn't know... So, he had to say "It sounds like card" I started with "card, lard, jard, bard, nard, hard... Hard. Hard... Rock... Hard Rock... Hard Rock Hotel? Are we going to the Hard Rock Hotel?!!" He said "Holy crap, finally! Yes we are! Tomorrow morning!" Then he told me that some of our friends were going too! I can't even explain how excited I was to have a weekend of fun away from responsibilities!
Even though I made the scavenger hunt a little more difficult but not knowing what was going on, it was still so sweet and thoughtful of him!
~
So, I packed all night long and we got the kids off to my mom and dad's that morning, and headed to Tulsa!
~
We went straight to have lunch at OTB. Which is where Christian and I met back in 2002, at the Norman On The Border.
We had a great time of reminiscing of how we met and the road that brought us to 6 years of marriage.
Then we met our friends at the Woodland Hills Mall and shopped for a couple hours before heading to the hotel.
~
Once we got to the hotel, we were greeted by this saying...
"FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK, WE SALUTE YOU" - AC/DC.
Right then, I knew it was going to be The Best Night!
Our great friends, The Talley's and Waldenville's joined us. We all had our own rooms, with two of them joining. The rooms were insanly nice! The view out our window was the Hard Rock sign and the Hard Rock golf course. The property was incredible! You don't even feel like you are in Oklahoma!
~
There was a bride and groom on the sign. I'm sure they put it there just for our wedding anniversary! :)
~
We got ready in the rooms and once the ladies were finished getting ready, we met the guys downstairs, that were already out gambling.
~
~
My hottie hubby.
~
Christian came upstairs to hurry us up, so he got to escort all the ladies down the elevator.
We were headed down to meet the cab and when we got outside, Zan started snapping pictures of me and Lisa kept saying "Kristie, there's our cab!" But there was a little red car right there so I was confused. Then they told me to look beyond the car and I saw A LIMO!
Then I relaized that the limo was for US!! And started hootin' and hollerin'! Christian had gotten us all a Tumble Bus!... I mean, a limo for the night! ;)
~
We had several wonderful hours in the limo! Scott, the driver, was great. And Scotty sure ended up making out like a bandit that's for sure!
Christian had gotten us all some champagne to celebrate our anniversary. So, Sam popped the cork for us.
~
Zan and Bryan.
Lisa and Sam.
~
~
Happy wives, mean happy lifes. :)
~
~
Christian made us reservations at a fancy italian place.
~
Pretty Zan.
~
Silly boys.
~
Sam striking a pose!
Dinner was great. And the rest of the night was... ummm... memerable. :)
~
We of course gambled some during the trip. Everyone won some and lost some. Not too much of either though.
The second day our friends went back home and just the two of us stayed the next day/night.
It was a day of relaxation and some shopping. Then we got all dressed up and headed to our dinner reservation at McGill's Steakhouse, which was on the 19th floor of the Hard Rock.
It was a night of great food and great conversation. We talked about the past, present and future and ate our little hearts out.
We had the most delicous cake! That came with a shot of milk.
~
We did a little gambling after dinner.
~
My very first spin on the slot machine, I paid $1.o0...
The rest of the evening was spent checking the hotel out, having some coctails, relaxing in the hot tub and just enjoying not having any responsibilities.
It was SUCH a fun, romantic, wonderful, perfect anniversary this year! I'm so glad our friends were able to share it with us. Christian did SOOO good with all of it! It was surprise after surprise and we had tons of fun with all of it.
.......................................
So, the question that the hotel asked in their surveys was...
... and the answer to that is,
YES. YES YOU SURE DID!!!!
